Cutting Fat!

You know the story... athlete around 10% body fat in high school, goes off to college & discovers parties. Graduate & get married... slowly that 10% becomes 20... then 30. It's not like I became a total couch potato. I still played beach volleyball & softball a couple times a week. Of course it was almost always with a beer in hand.

After surgery for a torn meniscus in 2006, I managed to pack on 15 pounds to an already overweight body and found myself a 5' 10", 213 pound 37 year old. The day I had to go into the store to buy size 38 slacks was the day I decided to do something about it.

First I found Tom Venuto's excellent Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle program. I'll admit, I had so little faith that it would work that I didn't even bother to take a "before" picture. I wish I had now... I dropped from 213 @ 31% body fat down to 185 pounds @ 18% in a matter of 3 months (April - June 2007). I've been in maintenance mode ever since and managed to drop into the 170s.

I'm about to turn 40 in March 2009 and we're expecting our first child shortly after that. I'm going to need all the energy I can to chase around an infant, so I decided to step it up a bit. Your Six Pack Quest just might do it!


I've been spending time lately spreading the word of these two great fat loss programs and trying to help a few people along the way. There is just SO much bad information out there about losing weight and getting in shape, it's sad. Everyone wants the quick fix, the miracle pill, and anything that will let them get in shape without effort. I'm sorry to say that it DOES take a bit of work, but it's worth it. The compliments I still get every day about how I look is proof enough for me.
